About Me

Educational History:

I attended high school in Flippin, Arkansas, graduating in 1991.  After high school, I worked at Ranger Boats from 1993-2005.  I worked in several positions, before returning to college, part-time, in 2002.  I graduated in 2007 with a Bachelors’ of Science in Mid-Level Education.  That same year, I started teaching fifth grade math and science in the same classroom that I student taught in at Harrison Middle School.  During my teaching experience, I was able to attain a Masters’ of Science in School Leadership and Administration.  After getting this degree from the University of Central Arkansas in Conway, I accepted the elementary principal position at Mountain Pine Elementary.  I moved to the Mountain Pine area in 2014. During the summer of 2018, I was asked to move to my current position as High School Principal.  I have completed my superintendent licensure and I am using that training to help me lead the Mountain Pine High School to the next level.

I am PROUD to be a RED DEVIL.

Degrees and Certifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Mid-Level Education (Grades 4-8)

Master’s Degree in School Leadership and Administration (Grades PK-12)

Superintendent Licensure for District Leadership

Professional Development:

Arkansas Leadership Academy, Teacher Institute (Forum 15 Graduate)

Arkansas Leadership Academy, Master Principal (Phase I, II, and III Graduate)

Current Position:

I started with Mountain Pine School District as the elementary principal at the beginning of the 2014-2015 school year.  I am starting my third year with the district in this position.

Previous Position:

I began my teaching career later in life.  I started teaching at Harrison School District as a 5th grade math/science teacher in 2007.  I taught there until I took over this position in 2014.

As I mentioned earlier, I started my teaching career when I turned 34 years old.  My initial career started at Ranger Boats.  I served in many capacities at Ranger.  I started my career, working in the finish room, building the boat and making it show-room ready.  I was part of the tournament service crew, salt water boats supervisor, residential planning and cost analysis, and customer service/technical support.  The many years working in this position gave me skills that have benefited student learning.

Family Information:

I have been married to my beautiful wife, Heather since, 1992.  We have two grown children and two grandsons.  My son lives in Flippin, Arkansas with his family and my daughter is attending college at National Park in search of a nursing degree.  My daughter graduated from Mountain Pine in 2016 and helped lead them the girl’s team to the state tournament during her junior and senior years.

Yes, I have a growing kennel at my house currently.  I have an 18 pound pure white long haired cat, named Sugar, Boomer, a 90 pound pit, Oreo, a long haired rescue, and babysitting my daughters 20 pound puppy.  It is a three-ring circus at my house.:)

Personal Information:

During my free-time:), I spend as much time fishing and hunting as I can.  I am an outdoorsman by heart.  Before moving to Mountain Pine, I was a professional fishing guide on the White River in north Arkansas.  So, come on by and visit with me about the great things we have going on at the elementary school and we might even get some time in to talk about fishing.
